Delighted to see our exhibition design for Henley Royal Regatta recieving such rave reviews, we were commisioned to design an exhibition and we came up with the idea of a ‘Course with a View’ featuring a panoramic view of the course as it is now which shows all of the historical background.

Henley River and Rowing Museum who commisioned the project were delighted with the concept from the initial stages through to it’s completion – “it is fantastic to have designs created so efficiently that result in such a high profile project being so well interpreted” says senior curator Rachel Wragg.

New Identity for Andover Wine Shop

June 18th, 2010

There’s nothing more satisfying than working closely with a company developing a brand which exactly matches the customer’s hopes and aspirations.

That’s why it was so rewarding to work with Grape Expectations, a new independent wine shop in Andover.

Pica produced the identity and marketing material for its successful launch, creating a strong image featuring a unique watercolour illustration which we believed underpinned the qualities the shop brings to the high street – and which, most importantly, delighted the client.

The brand was then applied to all of the shop’s point of sale material, shop graphics, their marketing collateral and the website bringing together all of the elements that form a successful shop launch.

This is a fantastic project to be involved with and it is so rewarding to bring all of the elements together so successfully resulting in a delighted client.

Following on from the successful implementation of the “Henley Lives” exhibition, Henley River and Rowing Museum were keen to move forward a new gallery design.  The Museum houses an impressive and historical painting by Siberechts which brings Henley and its surrounding area to life.

Pica’s high level of understanding of the project requirements and the needs of the audience has resulted in a
complementary and enlightening interpretation of Siberechts painting. The information given will help to entice visitors from all walks of life and has been designed with longevity in mind.

Rachel Wragg, Senior Curator says “We were delighted to once again be working with Pica on our next project: designing the new gallery and supporting the Siberechts display. Pica are consistent in their approach and ensure they have a good understanding of what we need, and our visitors need in order to proceed. They come to us with a range of options and inform us as to their reasons for each choice. We are incredibly pleased with the result and
look forward to welcoming people to our delightful new gallery.”

Nappy Network

April 9th, 2010

Pica have been working to save the planet!

Not one but two new identities for real nappy ambassodors.  Firstly the New Forest Nappy Network set up to promote the use of real nappies giving advice and a forum for discussion between parents and carers.  Our messaging for the brand had to be clear and attractive and we chose the bubbles to symbolise people coming together.

The second identity was for Nappy Bliss a real nappy laundry service which takes the hassle away from using real nappies, we chose to emphasize the natural and pure brand values with our pallet of colours and the use of the daisy.

The brands were applied to a range of marketing material and websites and were rolled out during Real Nappy Week receiving huge praise and support.

Walking Maps for Age Concern

March 16th, 2010

Our reputation for creative design is what led to Age Concern approaching Pica to produce a series of walking maps over terrain suitable for the elderly.

It was a case of deciding on the practicality of the maps in consideration of the charity’s budget – with Age Concern delighted with the end results, as the charity’s Grace Shorthouse explained.

She said,“We are extremely pleased with the end result and indeed the whole concept and design.

“The Pica team are excellent communicators and their attention to detail and accuracy was most reassuring. The project has been a huge success, the maps have received an excellent response from the organisation and are being snapped up the public.”

Garden Designer Fourishes with Pica

February 23rd, 2010

Pica has been working with Vicky Panther Garden Design (VPGD), a leading new landscaper to develop a strong brand.

Despite being an established company, VPGD felt their brand lacked impact and individuality, and a stronger presence was needed to set the business apart from the competition.

Pica were confident in providing design options which could be developed into an impressive identity for Vicky’s business.

Clever use of photography, colour and short, sharp messages proved the winning formula in developing communications for VPGD.

Vicky has really enjoyed her Pica experience, as she explained, “To work with Pica on my identity and website gave me the confidence that I would have a fantastic end result thanks to their professionalism, knowledge and experience.”

Pica Brand the New Brush Baby Toothbrush

January 6th, 2010

Pica’s latest project for Brush Baby is the branding of their new and innovative children’s toothbrush..

The Brush Baby NanoCool is an anti-bacterial action brush for 4-7 year olds with unique bi-level bristles and is the first to extend the Brush-Baby product range.

The challenge was to present the Brush-Baby branding within the strict confines of the pack shape and dimensions, a great example of the importance and need for consistent, long-term brand management.

National Trust’s New Exhibition

December 9th, 2009

Pica have been instrumental in a new permanent exhibition for the National Trust’s City Mill in Winchester.

Designed to tell the story of breadmaking from the field to the table using local people’s memories and incorporating their stories and annecdotes into the historical local information from the last century.

It is always interesting to be involved in a project with so much local history and the only problem we encountered was having to leave out so many interesting stories.

The exhibition also contains an audio visual display and the public are encourage to add to the memories with their own replections which further develop the visitor experience.

Museum Exhibition Graphics

November 5th, 2009

We spent many hours on location when asked to come up with the idea of a new and innovative museum exhibit – never a chore when the location is as beautiful as Henley!

The town’s River and Rowing Museum commissioned ‘Henley Lives’, part of a series designed to engage with the local community.

The initial exhibit concept was Pica’s, working closely with senior curator, and from there we developed all material and content to be included in the exhibition.

A combination of 2D graphics within a 3D exhibition helped provide a vivid insight into Henley life from the 18th Century through to the present day.

“Pica were able to contribute strong design ideas from the outset. Personal visits to the museum to view the gallery, meet the team and discuss initial ideas were invaluable,” said Senior Curator Rachel Wragg.

Adtec Security Rebrand

June 8th, 2009

We were given a blank canvas when security company Adtec approached us for a complete modernisation of their brand .

The first step was to give both arms of Adtec’s business – commercial and residential – their own distinct image and we developed two new logos to provide that.

We then translated both logos across all Adtec’s promotional material including it’s website and brochures, all of which were greeted with much approval by the company’s clients.

Winchester Museums New Identity

March 5th, 2008

Pica have worked with Winchester Museums to increase awareness of their presence in the City and attract a larger numberof visitors.

Our approach meant that we immersed ourselves in the project by studying each of the locations and periods that they were based upon which allowed us to absorb the atmosphere and provide a basis for our inspiration around the new branding and design.

The imagery created for Winchester Museums ensures that consistency is retained throughout the parent and sub

brands, and uses colour to differentiate between them. The completed visuals have outstanding impact on all of the promotional material. The new identity is designed to be flexible and has been incorporated across all deliverables such as the Museum publications, advertising, events and exhibition material.

Pica Selected for Product Launch

January 8th, 2008

Pica are delighted to have been selected by new company Brush Baby to bring their innovative baby’s teether brush to market.

Without the luxury of a big brand name association, Brush-Baby needs a strong personality of its own to help establish both the brand and its first product in the marketplace.

For this reason, Pica understand the company’s first product pack will have to serve as a mini advert and sell directly off the pack front to the consumer.
